Maui Memories

Early in the week I was trying to practice some of Kathy Johnson"s suggestions with my "survivor jade" plant.  Then I was lucky enough to get into Linda Lucas watercolor class for this coming Saturday so decided I had better see what I could do with my washes and brushes and colors in anticipation.  I really didn't think or plan anything but like the primitive but happy result.  "Maui Memories"
Happy Paint Party Friday!

Earth Day Challenge

I have done very, VERY few mandalas in my tanglelife.  Actually, I can only remember one other.  I was wishing I had a compass when I discovered my apple corer...perfect!  I was off and running.  It took on a life of it's own.  Where does the butterfly fit in you ask???  I have no idea.  Perhaps it flew in and landed on my paper.  Whatever, I like it and this is my salute to Earth Day (aka Amanda Day).

Paint Party Friday Rookie

I am cautiously venturing into a new area of art this spring.  I enjoyed Traci Bautista's free tutorials in acrylic and have been playing with the ideas since.  I discovered Paint Party Friday months ago and have enjoyed seeing your wonderful work.  I hope with your help and ideas maybe my art will improve.
In the meantime, this is my first entry.

Laura's AurasChallenge #66

I have been battling with "Blogger" (again) this week so was late posting.  For whatever reason, when i tried to upload from iphoto, it was stuck at an upload from 10 days ago.  This has happened before and I have no idea what the problem is.
Anyway, Laura is back, thankfully.  Little Artoo is home.  We all hope that he is perking up each day.  It is so difficult to think of a little one sick (and away from home).  I truly believe our home and bed are nurturing somehow.  I certainly hope so for Artoo.
To the post.  This was such fun.  I have admired "skinnystraycat" on Flickr for over a year.  She has gone "dark" but I still enjoy looking at her art posted ages ago.  So I took Twistee and Sooflowers and a few of my flowers and it took off from there.  Hope you like it!

Challenge #65 "Huggy Bear"

First of all, can you believe that this is the 65th Challenge???  It really is amazing to me.  And I didn't find it until somewhere around the 30th challenge.  Anyone in since the beginning?                                                                                       Once a month a pattern is selected randomly for us to incorporate in our entry.  This week it is 'Huggy Bear" by JJ LaBarbera.  As I fooled with this, I kept coming back to Sandra Strait's (Molossus) Steampunk patterns.  Don't as me how or why, I have no idea but that was on my mind.  So, knowing full well I can't really do justice Sandra's amazing patterns here is my "steampunk" version of Huggy Bear for the Challenge.
