Stuck...

Unfortunately, our paint group has sort of dismantled.
Health issues for some made it impossible to go on
Little did I realize what their support meant to me.
I have been stuck.
No bright inspirations in the night,
no desire to pour another crazy background.
Just stuck.
I know it will pass and I will fine another group to 'play with'.
In the meantime I putter around on my lanai.
The past two days I have tended my orchids (which were all in the house or the garage because of the cold weather).  As I brought them out, I cleaned each of them off, soaked them in soapy water (to ward off bugs)  As there are over 100, it is a big job and I am happy to have it done.

My white laelia rubescense got a third place ribbon at the Sarasota Orchid Show this past weekend.
It is the white one in the middle of the photo.

Every thing I do seems dark and uninspired.
Maybe next week...
Happy PPF

Even if you say it is dark i see the bright colors peeking through the page. I love the black stenciled images against the loose white lines. Why not visit some more blogs this Friday to get the inspiration you need? (which is on hold due to the dismantling of the real painting group)If i feel bored and stuck i prepare a fancy drink for myself :) By fancy i mean either something with alcohol or something super healthy :)Have a great weekend.

I like dark colors but even so, this one seems bright and lively to me with the red and yellow and especially the white. It's lovely! Hope your inspiration comes back to you :)

If your feeling melancholy, remember it's a full moon and emotions can run very high, try to think positive thoughts and do a moon ritual to get rid of the darkness you feel surrounding you. Congrats on your orchid winning a ribbon, that's awesome!

But there's a bright, white line all around your painting! Your orchids are really wonderful, congrats on winning a medal. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie

Congratulations on third prize with one of your orchids! Beautiful flowers!

Sorry to hear your paint group has disbanded. Good luck finding another.

I think, as artists, we all go through a bit of a slump at times. I'm sure your feelings are only temporary. I think your art looks lovely — not dark at all.

Happy PPF,
Serena

I do like your piece with the white scribbly lines. You'll find your mojo again, I'm sure. Just hang in there and keep trying.

how wonderful to receive a ribbon for your gorgeous orchids! Sorry to hear about your group. Hope you find another as it means a lot to you. Your art piece is fab and if you want to go with darker then just do it! things will take another turn eventually. Happy PPF!

We all get stuck but like Picasso said “Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.” Dark is good, too. Not everything is sunny and bright.:)

The yellow, white and red piece is very pretty, Susan. I think a lot of us are stuck. That's why I painted sky scenes. I get to dabble in watercolors without too much thought behind what I am doing. Try a sunrise/sunset scene with silhouetted trees. It's easy and gets you back into the mood a little.
