Play

A few weeks ago I did the painting on the left.

And then one afternoon I decided to do my version of "urban petroglyphs"
There are so many layers of paint on this I am
surprised they didn't crack.

We rented studio space at the Art Center and got to play with spider web and water color.
I have no idea what this will become yet but I really like the colors.

And this is a little play after completing a very intense course on using dark colors.
Wishing everyone a Happy PPF

It is going to be 80 degrees today so I have a bit of spring fever.  After the cold
my orchid blooms are few and far between but there is one...or I should say, two.

My husband took this on his morning walk with Harley...Yikes!!!

Love the alteration and the new work, especially the second piece in pink, blue and yellow - really pretty. It's very cold here, and there's more snow on its way, but my indoor orchids are doing well. Happy PPF, hugs, Valerie

Yikes indeed - on the alligators! Be careful. I don't know how big Harley is but alligators move pretty fast. Your art is beautiful. I love the colors on all of them and especially on the spidery one.

Love the petroglyph cover up! It's so cool and interesting. And the pink and blue one below too. That's fabulous looking with all of the lines. 80 degrees! Wow! We barely get that in the summer, LOL.

I love these Susan! In the first painting it looks as if a big head is watching the urban petroglyphs (what can I say, I always see heads everywhere ...) That second one is gorgeous. I wonder how you did that. I even googled spiderweb and watercolors, but didn't get anything resembling yours. Did you just scratch in the paint? It's really beautiful ...

All your paintings are GREAT! Fantastic colors and textures. I love what you did with the Urban Petroglyph! Your two orchids are beautiful as well. Thank you for sharing. I would imagine Harley and your Hubby will not tempt fate with the gators. They do scare me! Great post Susan! Hugz, Rasz

This is done on yupo (plastic paper) taped down to a cardboard piece. I use acrylic fiber sold at Halloween to make spider webs and pull it very finely across the paper and held in place with pins. Then I wet the paper and the webbing and spray liquid water color on it. Let it dry a day and pull the webbing off. It is a messy project but I love the results.
