Earth Day Revisited with Strircles and Hybrid

Oh wow, this week I was stumped.  I tried not to peak but could see in random posts that some of you had done some spectacular things with this Challenge #68.
This has been one of those weeks.  I took out the neighbor's mail box trying to park in front of my house and then came in the house, grabbed a nutbar, chomped into it and broke a tooth.
Fixing it required a crown so I guess I will have to make do with current art supplies for a while.  Dentists aren't cheap.
Interesting, when I called to report to the Homeowners Assoc. that I had destroyed the mailbox, they said they were shocked that I was reporting it.  Most people drive off and pretend someone else did it.  No one had ever called in to report it if they had done it.  The damaged homeowner called.  Thanks Mom, you taught me well.
Back to the challenge.  I think I am stuck on Earth Day.  This is a good idea (I think) but the roots don't work.

hahaha! i would have called and reported the mailbox, as well, but they are right - many people wouldn't have! and i like how you gave a shout-out to your mom :)

i like your tree! the strircles are pefect for the top part! i try not to peek at other's designs before i do mine, too. if i look first, then i'm too intimidated to do much. i get discouraged too easily, i guess, but i love your tree and i think the roots work fine :)

Ah! Great minds. I did a couple of trees in the second tangle of this duo. I like the fullness of the top of the tree with the stircles.

I really like your tangle and did not notice the roots - my eyes were drawn to the trunk and foliage, but I do think the roots made my eye follow upwards, so they actually work well!:-)

I think this is very creative! I know what you mean about not peeking. I try not to because I don't want to be tempted to borrow and idea, lol! Great tangle!

Very cool tangling! I used Zentangles for my flower today for Lori's flower/day/May too. And I like your roots - I think the heavy dark grounds the piece.

Very lovely tile - so zen-like with the heart shape strircles! And having just watched my neighbour try to dig up tree roots, I think they are a perfect representation! I love to read what is going on in peoples lives as they lead up to doing the challenges, so thank you for sharing. It was great of you to own up to taking out the mailbox. Hope your tooth issue isn't too painful (dentistry is my worst nightmare).
